   Mesoscale Discussion 0406
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   1247 PM CDT Sun Apr 19 2020

Areas affected...Northern Loiusiana and far western Mississippi

   Concerning...Tornado Watch 120...

   Valid 191747Z - 191845Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 120 continues.

SUMMARY...Early stages of upscale convective development occurring,
with potential for a corridor of damaging winds including embedded
   mesovortices.

DISCUSSION...Regional radar trends indicate a band of loosely
organized convection now showing signs of congealing, with an
eastward component of discrete propagation. These storms are
situated on the eastern periphery of enhanced west-southwesterly
   mid-level flow (i.e., 40 kt at 700 mb) associated with a developing
mid-level short-wave trough. At the surface, an east-west oriented
warm front remains draped across the region, with deep-layer shear
vectors oriented parallel to the boundary.

At the present time, expectations are for the aforementioned
convective trends to continue, leading to an eventual eastward
propagating MCS. Should this occur, there exists a high potential
for damaging winds, including embedded mesovortex circulations.
