   Mesoscale Discussion 0419
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   0718 AM CDT Mon Apr 20 2020

Areas affected...portions of northern and central FL

   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 127...

   Valid 201218Z - 201345Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 127
   continues.

SUMMARY...An intense line of storms will move inland across portions
of the northern/central Florida peninsula over the next couple of
hours. Damaging wind gusts will be the main threat, but hail and
possibly a tornado can not be ruled out.

DISCUSSION...An intense line of thunderstorms just offshore the Levy
County coast will move inland across the north-central FL Peninsula
over the next couple of hours. These storms have displayed
sustained, strong midlevel rotation while over the Gulf while
occasionally displaying bowing reflectivity structures. As these
storms spread inland, the will pose a threat for damaging wind
gusts. Furthermore, the 12z TBW and MFL RAOB show steep midlevel
lapse rates, while 12z mesoanalysis also indicates a plume of steep
lapse rates extending across central FL. In conjunction with strong
vertical shear and MLCAPE values around 2000 J/kg, more intense
cells could produce hail. Low-level winds remain veered, but 0-1 km
SRH per the TBW VWP exceeds 250 m2/s2, and a tornado can not be
   ruled out.
