   Mesoscale Discussion 0428
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   0617 PM CDT Tue Apr 21 2020

   Areas affected...Western and Central Oklahoma

   Concerning...Severe potential...Severe Thunderstorm Watch likely

   Valid 212317Z - 220015Z

   Probability of Watch Issuance...95 percent

SUMMARY...Severe thunderstorm watch will be issued soon to include
much of western and central Oklahoma. Large hail and damaging winds
   can be expected.

DISCUSSION...Multiple thunderstorm clusters are maturing across the
northern TX Panhandle this evening. This activity is expected to
increase in areal coverage/intensity as it propagates east-southeast
into western OK over the next few hours. As the LLJ increases across
OK tonight, a larger complex of potentially severe storms should
progress southeast toward central OK. Forecast soundings suggest
hail will be generated with the strongest updrafts. Additionally,
relatively dry sub-cloud layer suggests damaging winds may also
develop. CAMs support this scenario and latest HRRR is consistent in
spreading strong/severe convection toward the I-35 corridor later
this evening. Supercells and possible bow-type structures can be
   expected.
