   Mesoscale Discussion 0450
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   0826 PM CDT Wed Apr 22 2020

   Areas affected...East-Central TX...West-Central LA

   Concerning...Tornado Watch 135...

   Valid 230126Z - 230300Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 135 continues.

SUMMARY...New storm development across east-central TX may
strengthen into supercells capable of all severe hazards.

DISCUSSION...Surface convergence has resulted in additional
development across east TX. This area is well ahead of the dryline
moving through north-central TX and south of the warm front
extending through north-central LA southwestward into southeast LA.
The air mass ahead of this new development (i.e. from east-central
TX into west-central LA) is unstable, suggesting the potential for
storm intensification and maturation. Surface winds are a bit weaker
and more veered than areas farther east but low/mid-level winds
remain strong, leading to large low-level hodographs and strong
deep-layer shear. As such, there is some potential for additional
storm maturation into supercells capable of all severe hazards. Main
uncertainty regarding storm maturation is the effect of ongoing
   nocturnal stabilization.
