Areas affected...southern and eastern LA into southern
MS...southwest AL and the western FL Panhandle

   Concerning...Tornado Watch 137...138...

   Valid 230728Z - 230900Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 137, 138 continues.

SUMMARY...All severe hazards remain possible across WW 137 and 138.
A downstream tornado watch will likely be needed in the next couple
of hours across southeast MS, southern AL and the western FL
   Panhandle.

DISCUSSION...Strong to severe thunderstorms continue as of 07z
across WW 137 and 138, from southern/central MS along/just north of
a warm front, as well as southwestward ahead of a cold front, from
southwest MS into southern LA. The surface warm front extends across
southern into southeast MS to near Mobile Bay. These storms are
tracking toward the east/northeast at around 40-45 kt, which should
bring them to the eastern portions of the WW 137 by around 09-10z.
Additional convection has been developing more recently ahead of the
main line of storms near Pike County, MS. If this continues, a
severe threat may spread outside of the watch area and into portions
of southeast MS and southern AL sooner rather than later.

The downstream airmass across southeast MS into southern AL should
continue to improve with time through the early morning hours.
Boundary-layer dewpoints will continue to climb through the 60s F as
   a 40+ kt south/southwesterly low-level jet overspreads the region.
Convection may outpace best instability, but intense shear should
compensate for more modest instability further east. Regional VWP
data continues to show large, curved low-level hodographs
lengthening above 3km. As such, supercells capable of all severe
hazards will remain possible across WW 137 and 138, and downstream
across parts of southeast MS into southern AL and the western FL
   Panhandle through the morning hours.
