Areas affected...Southeastern Missouri into central Illinois

   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 152...

   Valid 282332Z - 290130Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 152
   continues.

SUMMARY...Threat for marginally severe hail and damaging wind gusts
will continue for the next few hours in WW 152. The greatest severe
threat will likely be damaging wind associated with small bowing
   segments within the line.

DISCUSSION...A line of strong to severe thunderstorms continues
along the cold front from central Missouri into central Illinois.
Marginally severe hail and strong/near-severe wind gusts have been
reported with this activity. Given the convective mode and modest
mid-level lapse rates, the strongest cores may produce hail near to
just above 1 inch. The greatest threat for wind damage will be with
small bowing segements that develop. This has been observed on radar
imagery both in central Illinois, near Lincoln, as well as central
Missouri, near Columbia. Upper-level forcing for ascent will be
greatest in parts of southeastern Missouri into southern Illinois
this evening. The portion of the convective line in this zone may
maintain intensity for a longer duration than within
   central/east-central Illinois.
