   Mesoscale Discussion 0497
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   1008 PM CDT Tue Apr 28 2020

Areas affected...north central and northeast Texas through southeast
Oklahoma and central through eastern Arkansas

   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 153...154...

   Valid 290308Z - 290445Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 153, 154
   continues.

SUMMARY...Threat for damaging wind and large hail will persist this
evening from north-central and northeast TX into southeast OK and
central through eastern AR. Best best threat for a tornado or two
appears to be from far northeast TX into southeast OK and southwest
   AR.

DISCUSSION...Expansive squall line from northeast AR into southeast
OK and north central TX is moving southeast at 30-35 kt. A few
discrete cells continue developing ahead of the line from northeast
TX into southeast OK and southwest AR along strengthening low-level
jet. Low-level hodographs are sufficient for a threat of a couple of
tornadoes in this region. Otherwise, the thermodynamic environment
with 3000 J/kg MLCAPE and 40-45 kt effective shear are favorable for
organized storm structures including bowing segments and a few
supercells. Storms have tended to remain mostly discrete across
north-central TX where supercell structures posing a threat for very
   large hail is greatest.
