   Mesoscale Discussion 0498
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   1112 PM CDT Tue Apr 28 2020

   Areas affected...eastern Arkansas through southeast
   Missouri...western Kentucky...western Tennessee and northwest
   Mississippi

   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 153...

   Valid 290412Z - 290515Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 153
   continues.

SUMMARY...Threat for mainly damaging wind will persist next couple
hours as storms move through eastern AR to far western TN and
western KY. Storms should begin a weakening trend east of the MS
River, and a downstream WW is not anticipated. However, depending on
convective trebds, the WW might need to be extended another row of
counties from northwest MS through west TN and western KY.

DISCUSSION...Extensive squall line with embedded bowing structures
and meso-vortices extends from southeast MO through eastern AR
moving east at 40-45 kt. The line should remain capable of producing
damaging wind during the next couple of hours. However, a
significant decrease in instability exists east of the MS River.
Southeasterly trajectories from CP high pressure over the eastern
U.S. has resulted in dewpoints remaining in the 50s F and MUCAPE
below 500 J/kg. The increasingly marginal thermodynamic environment
should result in a weakening trend after 05Z.
