NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   0848 PM CDT Sat May 23 2020

   Areas affected...Eastern Texas Panhandle...Western
   Oklahoma...Northwest Texas

   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 209...210...

   Valid 240148Z - 240345Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 209, 210
   continues.

SUMMARY...A severe threat is expected to continue across western
Oklahoma and northwest Texas over the next few hours. Wind damage
and isolated large hail will be possible with the stronger
thunderstorms. Weather watch issuance can not be ruled out.

DISCUSSION...Latest surface analysis shows a 997 mb low in southeast
Colorado. A moist airmass is in place with surface dewpoints in the
mid 60s to lower 70s, from west-central Kansas southward into
western Oklahoma. The RAP is analyzing strong instability with
MLCAPE of 3000 to 4000 J/kg across much of the area. This combined
with 700-500 mb lapse rates near 8.5 C/km will support a threat for
isolated damaging wind gusts and large hail with organized
multicells. However, the severe threat may become more isolated
further to the east where deep-layer shear is considerably weaker.
At this time, it is unclear whether an additional watch will be
   needed.
