Mesoscale Discussion 0789
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
1256 AM CDT Wed Jun 03 2020
Areas affected...Portions of Lower MI
Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 241...
Valid 030556Z - 030730Z
The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 241
continues.
SUMMARY...Isolated strong/gusty wind threat may continue in the
short term. Overall severe risk should continue to slowly diminish.
DISCUSSION...Outflow has surged well ahead of a complex of storms
across Lower MI early this morning, with storms showing less signs
of organization/intensity than earlier. Although some instability is
present downstream of this ongoing activity, convective inhibition
remains quite strong. This suggests that any potential for
strong/gusty downdraft winds should remain quite isolated, and the
overall severe risk should continue to slowly diminish over the next
couple of hours. Accordingly, downstream watch issuance into eastern
Lower MI (to the east of ongoing Severe Thunderstorm Watch 241) is
not expected.
