   Mesoscale Discussion 0863
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   1134 PM CDT Sat Jun 06 2020

   Areas affected...Dakotas

   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 265...

   Valid 070434Z - 070600Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 265
   continues.

SUMMARY...Wind threat continues ahead of long-lived Derecho over the
   central Dakotas.

DISCUSSION...Numerous measured severe wind gusts that were occurring
with the long-lived Derecho have gradually lessened, with only
isolated severe now being observed along the leading squall line.
While this MCS appears to have weakened some over the last hour,
likely due to encountering more stable boundary layer, forward
propagation remains at least 50kt. Some damaging wind threat will
continue with this activity despite convection likely becoming
   increasingly elevated in nature.
