   Mesoscale Discussion 0864
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   1140 PM CDT Sat Jun 06 2020

Areas affected...Florida Gulf Coast and vicinity

   Concerning...Severe potential...Tornado Watch likely

   Valid 070440Z - 070645Z

   Probability of Watch Issuance...80 percent

SUMMARY...Supercells are developing off the western Florida coast
and are beginning to move onshore. Brief tornadoes and strong wind
gusts are possible with these storms overnight. A watch issuance is
   likely.

DISCUSSION...Rotating storms will continue to develop and move
north-northeast over the eastern Gulf of Mexico tonight with some
storms moving onshore. VROT on the convective cells have been
somewhere between 10-25 knots indicating brief, weak tornadoes are
possible. SRH 0-1 km is 100-250 m2/s2 per mesoanalysis and 00z TBW
and TLH soundings. There is some uncertainty about supercell
development offshore from southwest Florida, but from around Fort
Myers towards Tallahassee along/near the Florida Gulf Coast is the
most likely corridor for tornadoes and strong wind gusts.
