   Areas affected...Coastal MS...Coastal AL

   Concerning...Severe potential...Tornado Watch likely

   Valid 071358Z - 071500Z

   Probability of Watch Issuance...95 percent

SUMMARY...Increasing threat for brief tornadoes expected across
coastal MS and AL from now into this afternoon.

DISCUSSION...Recent radar imagery has shown an increase in cellular
convection along a feeder band arcing from about 15 miles south of
GPT back further southeastward into the central Gulf of Mexico.
Additionally, the areas just upstream of these storms has somewhat
thinner cloud cover, suggesting the potential for modest heating
once it moves onshore. Based on the limited observations available,
the area along and south of this feeder band is characterized by
dewpoints in the mid to upper 70s. These thermodynamic conditions
underlie strong low-level flow throughout the eastern periphery of
the tropical cyclone. All of these factors will contribute to
relatively higher threat for brief tornadoes from now into into the
   afternoon.
