Areas affected...eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota

   Concerning...Tornado Watch 267...

   Valid 080142Z - 080315Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 267 continues.

SUMMARY...The severe threat continues across much of WW267 in
eastern North Dakota and far northwest Minnesota. The predominant
storm mode is beginning to change to a cluster/QLCS. A watch
extension (in time) or perhaps a new watch may be necessary.

DISCUSSION...Discrete supercells have tracked and cycled
north-northeastward near the Minnesota/North Dakota border over the
last few hours. While storms have exhibited mid-level rotation, but
only one or two storms have demonstrated low-level radar signatures
indicating a potential tornadic circulation including one currently
in Marshall/Kittson counties. A tornado threat remains and is likely
highest in far northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota.

Storms in southern/western portions of the watch are beginning to
cluster and may form a QLCS in the next hour. These storms have a
history of large hail and damaging winds and a tornado was also
reported. All severe threats remain possible, although severe wind
may become the main threat if a QLCS transition occurs. Storms may
linger in the watch past 03z and a watch extension or new watch may
   be necessary.
