   Mesoscale Discussion 0932
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   1116 PM CDT Wed Jun 17 2020

Areas affected...northern Nebraska into central and eastern South
   Dakota

   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 283...

   Valid 180416Z - 180545Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 283
   continues.

SUMMARY...Severe risk will continue to gradually diminish.

DISCUSSION...Noted stabilization of the boundary layer is ongoing
across the WW area, with storms showing an associated/gradual
decrease in intensity. The most robust updrafts -- across
north-central Nebraska at this time -- are now elevated above a
southward-moving outflow boundary, but remain capable of producing
1" to 1.5" hail. Elsewhere, storms appear to be sub-severe at this
point, and an overall diminishing trend should continue through
   scheduled WW expiration at 18/06Z.
