   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 296...

   The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 296
   continues.

   SUMMARY...Severe threat will spread across the southern portions of
   watch 296 over the next several hours. Some consideration may be
   needed to expand ww296 across northern portions of MAF CWA.

   DISCUSSION...MCS has gradually expanded in areal coverage over the
   southeastern TX Panhandle into the TX South Plains. While a
   significant cold pool has developed in association with this
   complex, forward speed remains near 35kt. Greatest risk of damaging
   winds continues along the leading edge of the squall line, and there
   is some possibility for strengthening as this convection encounters
   increasingly moist environment. Additionally, with the LLJ focused
   across the Edwards Plateau into southeast NM, ongoing storms near
   MAF may linger while a decidedly southward motion persists along the
   western flank of the MCS.
