   Mesoscale Discussion 1099
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   0354 PM CDT Sat Jul 04 2020

   Areas affected...parts of central Montana

   Concerning...Severe potential...Watch possible

   Valid 042054Z - 042300Z

   Probability of Watch Issuance...60 percent

SUMMARY...Storms will continue to increase in intensity through
evening, with damaging wind gusts and marginally severe hail.

DISCUSSION...Storms are currently increasing across southwest MT
near the nose of the high-level speed max. Meanwhile, heating
persists downstream, where low 50s F dewpoints are yielding around
1000 J/kg MLCAPE over central MT. Moderate winds aloft atop weak
surface winds are resulting in long, straight hodographs favoring
splitting cells and small bowing structures. Coverage of severe wind
gusts or hail may warrant a watch later today.
