   Mesoscale Discussion 1714
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   0532 PM CDT Fri Sep 25 2020

Areas affected...Eastern South Carolina and far southeast North
   Carolina

   Concerning...Severe potential...Watch unlikely

   Valid 252232Z - 260000Z

   Probability of Watch Issuance...20 percent

SUMMARY...A few rotating showers and storms are expected to continue
   through the evening.

DISCUSSION...A very moist environment is in place across the
Carolinas east of a cold front extending from southern North
Carolina southwestward to southeast Georgia. Some low-level veering
flow is in place with southeasterly low-level flow at the surface
and southwesterly flow at 0.5 km. Flow isn't overly strong, but this
low-level turning is sufficient for some low-level updraft rotation.
An isolated brief tornado or two is possible this evening. The
strongest supercell is currently located in Dillon County, South
Carolina and will move toward Columbus County, North Carolina in the
next 1-2 hours. This storm and any other storms in the vicinity of
the warm front, will likely pose the greatest tornado threat.
