   Mesoscale Discussion 1811
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   1107 PM CST Tue Nov 24 2020

Areas affected...western Arkansas through northeast Texas

   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 514...

   Valid 250507Z - 250630Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 514
   continues.

SUMMARY...Threat for isolated damaging wind and a brief tornado or
two will persist next couple hours, primarily from western Arkansas
into northeast Texas. WW 514 can be locally extended a few counties
east as needed, but a new WW issuance is not expected at this time.

DISCUSSION...Line of storms with a few embedded bowing segments and
mesovortices extends from near Ozark in western AR through northeast
TX moving east at 30-35 kt. The northern portion of the line just
east of Ozark is beginning to move outside of the northeast corner
of the watch. However, the boundary layer farther east is fairly
stable across central AR north of a warm front with temperatures and
dewpoints in the low 50s F, suggesting these storms will probably
begin a weakening trend. Farther south, the warm sector remains
marginally unstable from southwest AR into northeast TX with
500-1000 J/kg MLCAPE. The kinematic environment along with strong
forcing for ascent associated with the progressive shortwave trough
will remain favorable for this line of storms to persist through the
remainder of WW 514 during the next few hours.
