Valid 130553Z - 130730Z The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 263 continues. SUMMARY...Damaging wind gust potential will continue across portions of the Texas Panhandle for several more hours and may approach far western OK after 10z. DISCUSSION...An organized bow is tracking southeast across the TX Panhandle at around 40-50 mph. A few 50+ kt wind gusts have occurred with this activity over the past hour or so. On its current track, storms will likely move near/outside the eastern edge of WW 263 by 08z. While some boundary layer inhibition exists due to nocturnal cooling, and warm 700 mb temperatures are noted in evening soundings, it is likely that this activity will continue to pose some severe wind risk across much of the TX Panhandle the next several hours. A reservoir of strong instability exists downstream of the bow, with very steep 2-6 km lapse rates and modest effective shear magnitudes in place. Recent radar imagery indicates a developing rear inflow jet, which should help to maintain intensity and organization amid a well-developed cold pool. Additionally, an outflow boundary associated with a cluster of storms further to the south is surging northeastward and merging with the bow. Given the thermodynamic environment, these merging boundaries should act to maintain vigorous updrafts and/or support renewed development along the surging bow. Local watch extensions and/or a new downstream watch likely will be needed. ..Leitman/Thompson.. 06/13/2021 ...Please see www.spc.noaa.gov for graphic product... ATTN...WFO...OUN...LUB...AMA...
