   Mesoscale Discussion 0026
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   1117 PM CST Sun Jan 02 2022

   Areas affected...southern South Carolina...southeastern
   Georgia...and northern Florida

   Concerning...Tornado Watch 11...

   Valid 030517Z - 030715Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 11 continues.

SUMMARY...Local severe risk continues across valid portions of WW

DISCUSSION...Latest radar and lightning data shows a subtle decrease
in convective intensity over the past hour, within the band of
persistent pre-frontal convection. While local risk for a
stronger/severe storm within this band will continue ahead of the
advancing/energetic upper system, secondary potential --
particularly with northward extend across the watch -- also cannot
be ruled out. However, no signs of substantial increase in
thunderstorms is indicated west of the initial band at this time,
and thus risk appears to have at least temporarily diminished a bit
   across the watch area.
