   Mesoscale Discussion 0715
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   0822 PM CDT Tue May 10 2022

Areas affected...Parts of the TX South Plains...TX
   Panhandle...Western OK

   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 198...199...200...201...

   Valid 110122Z - 110245Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 198, 199,
   200, 201 continues.

SUMMARY...Swaths of severe wind will remain possible through late
   evening.

DISCUSSION...After numerous cell mergers earlier this evening, an
eastward surging thunderstorm cluster has evolved across the central
TX Panhandle. An outflow boundary from earlier convection is draped
near the I-40 corridor downstream of this cluster, with strong
instability remaining to the south of the boundary. As this cluster
moves eastward along the boundary, a swath of strong/severe gusts
will be possible into the eastern TX Panhandle/western OK.

Further southwest, a northeastward-surging cluster has recently
evolved out of slow-moving convection across extreme southeast NM.
This cluster will move along a southwestward extension of the
primary outflow boundary toward the Lubbock area, with a locally
   enhanced severe wind risk.

Increasing MLCINH may eventually lead to a weakening trend late this
evening with the ongoing convection, though some threat of severe
wind along the outflows will likely persist even after convection
   begins to weaken.
