The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 256
continues.

SUMMARY...Damaging winds and marginal hail appears likely from
western into northern Maine.

DISCUSSION...A robust line of storms has consolidated over the
western border of Maine, near the axis of instability with MUCAPE
over 2000 J/kg. These storms may producing damaging downbursts over
the next 1-2 hours, along with marginal hail in the stronger
embedded cores. Farther east, conditions are more stable where
stratus exists. However, the westerlies just off the surface may
have brought in enough elevated theta-e to sustain at least an
isolated severe risk. A county or two may need to be added into the
existing watch should convective trends remain up.
