The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 402
continues.

SUMMARY...Locally damaging gusts remain possible across Severe
Thunderstorm Watch 402, with the greatest near-term threat over
Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.

DISCUSSION...An upscale-growing cluster of storms is moving
southeast at 25-30 kt toward the Pittsburgh metro area, with a
history of wind damage. Ahead of this convective cluster, continued
diurnal heating of a moist boundary layer (lower 70s dewpoints) and
steep low-level lapse rates should continue to support robust
outflow and related wind damage potential with southeastward extent.
With time, this activity should continue to grow upscale and track
more south-southeastward as it encounters a northerly midlevel flow
component per regional VWP data.
