...THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FROM EASTERN TEXAS
PANHANDLE AND FAR WESTERN OKLAHOMA INTO THE TEXAS BIG COUNTRY...

   ...SUMMARY...
Severe thunderstorms capable of large hail, damaging winds, and a
tornado or two will continue tonight from the eastern Texas
Panhandle and far western Oklahoma into the Texas Big Country. Other
severe storms may produce isolated damaging winds across parts of
   the Mid-South through tonight.

   ...01Z Update...

   ...Southern Plains...
Thunderstorms are expected to persist throughout the night along and
behind the outflow pushing southward/southeastward into central and
east TX. Very moist air mass will continue to support moderate to
strong instability along and ahead of the outflow. Mid-level flow
(and as a result vertical shear) weakens from northwest to
southeast, placing a relatively greater potential for a few severe
storms across portions of central TX. Damaging wind gusts are the
primary severe threat. There is also a low probably chance for
   isolated hail and a tornado.

Strong to severe thunderstorms are also expected to persist for the
next several hours across the TX Panhandle before nocturnal cooling
and progression into a less thermodynamically favorable air mass
result in weakening. Large hail and damaging wind gusts are the
   primary severe threats.

   ...Mid-South...
Both thunderstorm intensity and coverage have waned over the past
hour, likely a result of nocturnal stabilization. Expectation is for
isolated thunderstorms to gradually move northeastward, supported by
the northeastward progression of a weak vorticity maximum. Modestly
enhanced winds attendant to this vorticity max could contribute to
the development of a stronger storm or two. Damaging wind gusts are
possible from any stronger, more persistent updrafts. Low
probability potential for a tornado also exists.
