A mid-level shortwave trough will move from the Lower Great Lakes
eastward into the western Atlantic during the period. In the low
levels, a cold front initially over the southern Appalachians and
central Gulf of Mexico, will sweep east-southeast into the western
Atlantic off the Carolina coast. Surface high pressure will expand
to encompass much of the Lower 48 states. Dry and/or cool/stable
conditions will preclude thunderstorm development on Friday.
