   TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 933
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   1225 AM EST SAT NOV 15 2008
   
   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
   TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
   
          CENTRAL AND EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA
          COASTAL WATERS
   
   EFFECTIVE THIS SATURDAY MORNING FROM 1225 AM UNTIL 800 AM EST.
   
   TORNADOES...HAIL TO 1 INCH IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS
   TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.
   
   THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 95 STATUTE
   MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 30 MILES WEST OF JACKSONVILLE
   NORTH CAROLINA TO 45 MILES WEST NORTHWEST OF ELIZABETH CITY NORTH

   REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR

   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS

   SHEAR...AND LOW LVL SHEAR EXPECTED TO INCREASE ACROSS WW LATER THIS
   MORNING AS FL PANHANDLE UPR VORT ACCELERATES NEWD.  COUPLED WITH
   INFLUX OF WRN ATLANTIC BOUNDARY LAYER MOISTURE...SETUP COULD YIELD
   SEMI-DISCRETE STORMS/ADDITIONAL BROKEN LINE SEGMENTS THAT POSE A
   THREAT FOR TORNADOES...IN ADDITION TO DMGG WIND.
   
   AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
   SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 1 INCH. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND
   GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 450.
