   Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 108
   NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   230 PM CDT Sat May 19 2018

   The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

   * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
     South Central and Southeast Kansas
     Northern and Western Oklahoma
     Northwest Texas

   * Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 230 PM until
     1000 PM CDT.

   * Primary threats include...
     Widespread damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely
     Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
       inches in diameter likely

   SUMMARY...Storms are expected to continue developing from parts of
   northwest Texas across  Oklahoma into southeast Kansas through the
   evening hours, with stronger storms capable of producing severe wind
   gusts and large hail.

   The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 75
   statute miles east and west of a line from 45 miles northwest of
   Chanute KS to 55 miles south southeast of Childress TX. For a

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
   favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
   Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
   weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
   warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
   tornadoes.

   AVIATION...A few severe thunderstorms with hail surface and aloft to
   2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A
   few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 550. Mean storm motion vector
   24025.
