The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Southeast Maryland
Eastern Virginia
Coastal Waters
* Effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 300 PM until
800 PM EDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible
SUMMARY...Thunderstorms over northern Virginia will spread eastward
across the watch area this afternoon and early evening, posing a
risk of locally damaging wind gusts.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 35
statute miles north and south of a line from 100 miles west of
Patuxent River MD to 25 miles east of Wallops VA. For a complete
