The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
West-central Illinois
East-central Kansas
Central Missouri
* Effective this Thursday night and Friday morning from 1030 PM
until 500 AM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events
to 2.5 inches in diameter possible
Isolated damaging wind gusts to 60 mph possible
SUMMARY...A cluster of elevated thunderstorms will develop east from
east-central Kansas tonight. A few embedded supercells should form
with a risk for large hail, generally near the I-70 corridor in
Missouri.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45
statute miles north and south of a line from 35 miles southwest of
Topeka KS to 45 miles east northeast of Alton IL. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
