The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Tornado Watch for portions of
southern Illinois
western Kentucky
east-central and southeastern Missouri
* Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 350 PM until
1000 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
A few tornadoes possible
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 65 mph possible
Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible
SUMMARY...Strong/severe thunderstorms are forecast to develop
across/spread into WW #70 over the next couple of hours. Along with
potential for large hail and locally damaging wind gusts, a couple
of tornadoes will also be possible across the mid Mississippi/lower
Ohio Valley area.
The tornado watch area is approximately along and 60 statute miles
north and south of a line from 60 miles west southwest of Farmington
MO to 75 miles east northeast of Mount Vernon IL. For a complete
