   Tornado Watch Number 143
   NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   650 PM EDT Thu Apr 23 2020

   The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

   * Tornado Watch for portions of 
     North Florida
     Far southeast Georgia
     Coastal Waters

   * Effective this Thursday night from 650 PM until Midnight EDT.

   * Primary threats include...
     A couple tornadoes possible
     Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

   SUMMARY...A squall line across the eastern Florida Panhandle and far
   southwest Georgia should progress east across north Florida and far
   southeast Georgia this evening. Damaging winds and brief tornadoes
   are the expected hazards.

   The tornado watch area is approximately along and 55 statute miles
   north and south of a line from 60 miles northwest of Gainesville FL
   to 25 miles east southeast of Jacksonville FL. For a complete

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
   tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
   area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
   threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
   and possible warnings.

   AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail
   surface and aloft to 1 inch. Extreme turbulence and surface wind
   gusts to 60 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500. Mean
   storm motion vector 26040.
