The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Central and Southern Missouri
* Effective this Friday morning from 340 AM until 1000 AM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely
Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible
A tornado or two possible
SUMMARY...Somewhat similar to late last night, a well-organized line
of storms will move southeastward across portions of
central/southern Missouri through the early morning hours. Damaging
winds will be the most probable hazard as these storms spread
southeast across the region through sunrise.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 65
statute miles east and west of a line from 65 miles north northwest
of Columbia MO to 30 miles west southwest of West Plains MO. For a

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
