The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Extreme southeast Arkansas
Northeast Louisiana
Central Mississippi
* Effective this Friday afternoon and evening from 250 PM until
900 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible
SUMMARY...A cluster of storms will continue to surge southward from
northern into central Mississippi this afternoon, and some
additional storm development to the west is expected into southeast
Arkansas and northeast Louisiana. Damaging downburst winds will be
the main threat, though isolated large hail may occur with the
stronger embedded storms.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 95
statute miles east and west of a line from 30 miles north northeast
of Greenwood MS to 75 miles west of Meridian MS. For a complete
