   Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 279
   NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   650 PM EDT Wed Jun 10 2020

   The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

   * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
     Extreme northeastern Kentucky
     Eastern Ohio
     Western Pennsylvania
     Parts of western and northern West Virginia
     Lake Erie

   * Effective this Wednesday night and Thursday morning from 650 PM
     until 100 AM EDT.

   * Primary threats include...
     Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts
       to 75 mph possible
     Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible
     A tornado or two possible

   SUMMARY...A pre-frontal squall line has consolidated from central
   Ohio into eastern Kentucky, and will likely persist into the early
   overnight hours while spreading east-northeastward.  Damaging winds
   will continue to be the primary concern with these storms, though an
   isolated tornado or two will be possible with embedded circulations,
   along with isolated large hail.

   The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 65
   statute miles east and west of a line from 30 miles north northeast
   of Youngstown OH to 15 miles southwest of Charleston WV. For a

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
   favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
   Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
   weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
   warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
   tornadoes.

   AVIATION...A few severe thunderstorms with hail surface and aloft to
   1.5 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 65 knots. A
   few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500. Mean storm motion vector
   24045.
