The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Far Southwest Oklahoma
West/Northwest Texas
* Effective this Friday afternoon and evening from 405 PM until
1100 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
mph possible
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
inches in diameter possible
SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are expected to gradually intensify across
parts of the Texas Panhandle and the Texas South Plains/Permian
Basin vicinity through late afternoon/early evening, while
additional severe storms may occur with a band of storms near the
southwest Oklahoma/western North Texas border vicinity. One or more
linear clusters may develop later this evening and move toward the
Low Rolling Plains/western North Texas. Large hail and damaging
winds are expected.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 90
statute miles east and west of a line from 55 miles west northwest
of Clinton OK to 25 miles south southwest of Big Spring TX. For a

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.

an increased threat for a particular event.
