The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Tornado Watch for portions of
Western and central Minnesota
Far northeast South Dakota
* Effective this Friday afternoon and evening from 235 PM until
800 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
A couple tornadoes possible
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
inches in diameter possible
SUMMARY...Multiple supercells should initiate near the northeast
South Dakota and west-central Minnesota border area, while
additional cells develop south along a cold front. All hazards will
be possible, but damaging winds should be the most likely threat as
storms consolidate into an eastward-moving line across central
Minnesota.
The tornado watch area is approximately along and 60 statute miles
east and west of a line from 25 miles north of Alexandria MN to 10
miles south of Redwood Falls MN. For a complete depiction of the
