The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Far western Minnesota
Southeast North Dakota
Eastern South Dakota
* Effective this Sunday afternoon from 455 PM until Midnight CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events
to 2.5 inches in diameter possible
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
A tornado or two possible
SUMMARY...Storms are expected to increase near an
east/southeastward-moving cold front, initially across east-central
South Dakota and southeast North Dakota. These storms will spread
eastward across eastern South Dakota toward far western Minnesota
this evening. Large hail and damaging winds are expected with the
most intense storms.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55
statute miles east and west of a line from 90 miles northeast of
Aberdeen SD to 60 miles south southwest of Mitchell SD. For a

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.

an increased threat for a particular event.
