   Tornado Watch Number 490
   NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   550 PM CDT Tue Sep 15 2020

   The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

   * Tornado Watch for portions of 
     A small part of southwest Alabama
     Much of the Florida Panhandle
     Coastal Waters

   * Effective this Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning from 550
     PM until 600 AM CDT.

   * Primary threats include...
     A couple tornadoes possible

   SUMMARY...Hurricane Sally will continue to move very slowly toward
   the coast through early Wednesday.  Convective bands will spread
   inland to the east of the center, and a couple of tornadoes will be
   possible overnight as embedded supercells reach the coast.

   The tornado watch area is approximately along and 60 statute miles
   north and south of a line from 40 miles west southwest of Pensacola
   FL to 35 miles south of Tallahassee FL. For a complete depiction of

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
   tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
   area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
   threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
   and possible warnings.

   OTHER WATCH INFORMATION...This tornado watch replaces tornado
   watch number 489. Watch number 489 will not be in effect after
   550 PM CDT. 

   AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail
   surface and aloft to 0 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind
   gusts to 60 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500. Mean
   storm motion vector 13040.
