The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Tornado Watch for portions of
Eastern North Carolina
Coastal Waters
* Effective this Thursday night and Friday morning from 940 PM
until 300 AM EST.
* Primary threats include...
A couple tornadoes possible
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
SUMMARY...A fast-moving line of showers and thunderstorms over
central North Carolina will track across the watch area tonight,
posing a risk of locally damaging wind gusts. A tornado or two is
also possible along the leading edge of the storms.
The tornado watch area is approximately along and 70 statute miles
east and west of a line from 25 miles north northwest of Elizabeth
City NC to 45 miles southeast of Jacksonville NC. For a complete
