The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Tornado Watch for portions of
Central and southern Iowa
Extreme northwest Illinois
Far northern Missouri
* Effective this Sunday night from 610 PM until Midnight CDT.
* Primary threats include...
A few tornadoes possible
Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
mph likely
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 3
inches in diameter likely
SUMMARY...Thunderstorm development is expected this evening from
central/southern Iowa into southeast Iowa, and storms will move
east-southeastward into tonight. The environment favors supercells
capable of producing very large hail to 3 inches in diameter,
outflow gusts to 75 mph, and a few tornadoes. Later tonight,
upscale growth into a cluster or two may occur, with a continued
damaging wind and large hail threat.
The tornado watch area is approximately along and 55 statute miles
north and south of a line from 50 miles west southwest of Des Moines
IA to 25 miles east northeast of Burlington IA. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch

and possible warnings.
