The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
South-Central and Southeast South Dakota
* Effective this Saturday night and Sunday morning from 955 PM
until 300 AM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible
Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
SUMMARY...At least isolated severe thunderstorms should develop
east-northeastward across additional portions of south-central into
South Dakota late this evening and early in the overnight.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45
statute miles east and west of a line from 30 miles northeast of
Chamberlain SD to 55 miles south southeast of Chamberlain SD. For a

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
