   Mesoscale Discussion 0154
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   0515 PM CST Sun Mar 03 2019

   Areas affected...far southeast Alabama...northern
   Florida...southcentral/southeast Georgia and southern/eastern South
   Carolina

   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 8...9...

   Valid 032315Z - 040115Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 8, 9
   continues.

SUMMARY...The threat for tornadoes, damaging winds and isolated
large hail continues across the remaining valid portions of Tornado
Watches 8 and 9. In addition, a new watch may be needed across far
southeast Georgia and northern Florida prior to 01Z.

DISCUSSION...Regional radar composite at 23Z shows several
supercells with strong low-level rotation within the warm sector
over southern sections of GA and SC and far southeast AL. In
addition, areas of rotation were also noted within a line of storms
along the cold front from Lee County GA to Destin FL. The immediate
downstream environment will remain favorable for all severe hazards,
including strong tornadoes from southern SC southwest across
southern GA and northern FL, where MLCAPE averages 500 to 1000 J/KG
and westerly deep shear of near 50 kts exists. Pressure falls of
2.5 to 3.5 mb/2 hours remain maximized over southern SC and
east-central GA, and backed low-level winds in this region have
resulted in 0-1 km SRH in excess of 350 m2/s2. Thus, a continued
tornado risk will exist for the next few hours.

Across portions of northern FL, storms will exit WW 8 prior to 01Z,
and a local extension or a new WW will be needed. This will be
coordinated with local NWS offices within the hour.
